MG Motor has revised the pricing of its all-electric Windsor SUV in India, raising the cost of the flagship Essence Pro variant while leaving the other trims untouched. The new ex-showroom price for the top-end model now stands at ₹18.31 lakh, following a modest increase of ₹21,000. With this update, MG has further differentiated the premium offering through a combination of performance, style, and advanced safety features, solidifying its position as a high-value proposition in the evolving EV segment.
This increase in range provides added confidence to prospective EV buyers, especially those considering the Windsor for longer commutes or intercity travel. The additional battery capacity also complements the suite of tech upgrades in the Essence Pro.
These aesthetic changes, while subtle, align the flagship variant more closely with MG’s global EV design language and create a more distinct identity within the Windsor lineup.
Tech features continue to impress, headlined by a large 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen paired with an 8.8-inch digital instrument display. Wireless charging, a 9-speaker Infinity sound system, panoramic glass roof, 360-degree camera system, and six airbags enhance both comfort and safety. The inclusion of an electronic parking brake further refines the overall driving experience, matching expectations in the premium EV space.
Two-way charging capabilities in the form of Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) functions provide added utility. This allows users to power external devices or even charge another electric vehicle, increasing the practicality of the Windsor beyond everyday commuting.
These features make the Windsor EV one of the few models in its segment to offer such comprehensive driver-assist functionality, bringing an added layer of security and sophistication to the driving experience.
This pricing model reflects MG’s broader strategy to expand electric vehicle adoption by lowering barriers to entry while still offering premium features.
As the EV market continues to grow in India, the Windsor EV Essence Pro stands as a compelling option in the under-₹20 lakh category, particularly for urban professionals, families, and early adopters seeking a feature-rich and future-ready vehicle.
Premium Variant Gains Bigger Battery And More Range
The most defining upgrade in the Essence Pro is its larger 52.9 kWh battery pack, which significantly enhances the driving range. MG claims the vehicle can now travel up to 449 kilometres on a single charge — a considerable step up from the 38 kWh battery used in the lower variants, which delivers a more modest range of 332 kilometres. Despite the difference in battery capacity, all variants share the same electric motor configuration producing 136 hp and 200 Nm of torque, ensuring a consistent performance profile across the range. This increase in range provides added confidence to prospective EV buyers, especially those considering the Windsor for longer commutes or intercity travel. The additional battery capacity also complements the suite of tech upgrades in the Essence Pro.
New Exterior Colours And Stylish Alloys Add Fresh Appeal
Visually, MG has enhanced the Essence Pro’s appearance with new 18-inch alloy wheels that lend a sportier, more upmarket feel. Alongside the design update, three new colour options have been introduced — Celadon Blue, Glaze Red, and Aurora Silver — providing more choices for style-conscious buyers. These aesthetic changes, while subtle, align the flagship variant more closely with MG’s global EV design language and create a more distinct identity within the Windsor lineup.
Technology-Rich Cabin With Enhanced Comfort And Utility
The interior of the Windsor EV Essence Pro maintains its premium positioning through a well-appointed feature set. Standout additions include dual-tone ivory-black upholstery and a powered tailgate, adding both elegance and convenience to everyday use.Tech features continue to impress, headlined by a large 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen paired with an 8.8-inch digital instrument display. Wireless charging, a 9-speaker Infinity sound system, panoramic glass roof, 360-degree camera system, and six airbags enhance both comfort and safety. The inclusion of an electronic parking brake further refines the overall driving experience, matching expectations in the premium EV space.
Charging Options With Added Flexibility
The upgraded battery also benefits from versatile charging support. MG offers a 7.4 kW AC home charger, capable of fully charging the car in approximately 9.5 hours. For quicker turnarounds, a 60 kW DC fast charger can charge the battery from 20% to 80% in just 50 minutes — a useful feature for busy urban lifestyles or long road trips.Two-way charging capabilities in the form of Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) functions provide added utility. This allows users to power external devices or even charge another electric vehicle, increasing the practicality of the Windsor beyond everyday commuting.

BaaS Model Offers Lower Entry Price With Usage-Based Billing
MG also offers a flexible ownership model through its BaaS ( Battery as a Service ) programme. Under this option, buyers can acquire the Essence Pro at a significantly reduced ex-showroom price of ₹13.31 lakh. The battery is then leased on a pay-per-use basis, costing ₹4.5 per kilometre.
