Tata Motors has made a bold entry into the premium EV space with the launch of the Harrier.ev, and the response from buyers has been nothing short of overwhelming. As per recently surfaced documents, several variants of India’s first indigenously developed all-wheel-drive (AWD) electric SUV are facing extended waiting periods — with some buyers looking at a delay of up to 30 weeks, or over 7 months.

Adventure Variants Lead the Waiting Game

The Adventure 65 and Adventure 65 ACFC trims have emerged as the most sought-after variants of the Harrier.ev, both facing the longest waiting time of 28 to 30 weeks. That’s more than half a year of wait time for eager customers. Meanwhile, other Adventure trims such as the Adventure S 65 and Adventure S 65 ACFC aren’t far behind, with waiting periods ranging between 18 and 21 weeks, roughly around 4 to 5 months.

The mid-spec Fearless+ 65, Fearless+ 65 ACFC, Fearless+ 75, and Fearless+ 75 ACFC also share a similar estimated wait time of 18 to 21 weeks, showing that demand is spread fairly evenly across the mid and upper-mid range of Tata’s EV lineup.

Empowered Variants Available Sooner

Those who don’t want to wait too long might want to consider the top-of-the-line Empowered variants, which come with relatively shorter waiting periods of around 12 to 15 weeks, or 3 to 3.5 months. These include models such as the Empowered 75, Empowered ST 75, Empowered 75 ACFC, Empowered ST 75 ACFC, Empowered AWD 75, Empowered AWD ST 75, Empowered AWD 75 ACFC, and Empowered AWD ST 75 FC.

That said, actual delivery timelines could still vary based on location, dealership availability, and production constraints.

Premium Specs at a Competitive Price

The Harrier.ev is priced between ₹21.49 lakh and ₹30.23 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a strong contender in India’s growing electric SUV market. The vehicle offers two battery options - 65 kWh and 75 kWh - to cater to both range-conscious and performance-focused buyers.

Its dual-motor setup ensures impressive power figures, with the front motor delivering 155.8 hp and the rear motor producing 234.7 hp, enabling efficient AWD performance across different terrains.

Built for Every Road

Tata has also focused heavily on utility and versatility with the Harrier.ev, equipping it with six dedicated driving modes: Sand, Snow, Rock, Mud/Ruts, Normal, and Custom. These modes work by adjusting the torque distribution and suspension settings automatically, ensuring smooth handling whether you're tackling city roads or venturing off the beaten path.

A Sign of Things to Come

The long waiting period is a strong indicator of how well the Harrier.ev has been received by the Indian market. As Tata continues to push boundaries in the EV space, the Harrier.ev stands out not just as a vehicle, but as a symbol of India’s evolving automotive future - combining performance, innovation, and electric mobility in one rugged yet refined package.
