Tesla is hitting the accelerator on its India plans. After debuting its first showroom in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) last month, the American electric vehicle giant is all set to open its second outlet in the country - this time in New Delhi. The new showroom will officially open on August 11 and will be located at Worldmark, Aerocity, just a few minutes from the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The launch marks a significant step in Tesla’s push to make its presence felt in major Indian metro cities. With the Aerocity showroom, Tesla aims to serve customers not just in Delhi, but across the entire National Capital Region (NCR), including Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad.

Tesla Model Y Now Available Across India
This expansion follows the much-anticipated launch of the Tesla Model Y in India. Alongside the unveiling, the company also activated its official Indian website, allowing customers to explore pricing, variants, and delivery options. Initially, buyers could only register their Teslas in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Gurugram. However, the process has now been streamlined to support vehicle registration in every Indian state and union territory.
That means Tesla fans across India - from Bengaluru to Bhopal and Kochi to Kolkata - can now book, register, and take delivery of their Model Y without any regional limitations.
Pricing, Variants, and Range
Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD): ₹59.89 lakh (ex-showroom)
Approx. ₹61.07 lakh on-road
Long-Range RWD: ₹67.89 lakh (ex-showroom)
Approx. ₹69.15 lakh on-road
Both variants are powered by a single electric motor delivering around 295 horsepower. The RWD model comes with a 60 kWh battery pack, offering a WLTP range of 500 km on a full charge. The long-range version, equipped with a larger 75 kWh battery, promises a driving range of up to 622 km - perfect for long road trips or daily city commutes without frequent charging stops.

Delivery & Self-Driving Features
Tesla has confirmed that priority deliveries will be given to customers based in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Gurugram. Once the order is ready, the car will be delivered directly to the buyer’s doorstep via a flat-bed truck -a signature Tesla delivery style.
Another interesting update: Tesla’s self-driving capability is also listed on the website for an additional ₹6 lakh, although this feature will not be immediately active. The software and infrastructure to support it in India will roll out in the future.
As Tesla builds its physical presence and gears up for deliveries, the Indian EV landscape is set for a transformative shake-up. For now, all eyes are on August 11 as Delhi gears up to welcome Tesla in style.
