Toyota Kirloskar Motor has increased the prices of its most budget-friendly MPV, the Rumion, in India. The company has implemented a uniform hike of ₹12,500 across all variants. With this revision, the Rumion now starts at ₹10.66 lakh, while the top-end variant is priced at ₹13.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Toyota Rumion is essentially a rebranded version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and forms part of the shared lineup between Toyota and Maruti Suzuki, which also includes models like the Glanza-Baleno, Taisor-Fronx, and Hyryder-Vitara. However, Toyota keeps things simpler with just three variants of the Rumion—S, G, and V—unlike the more extensive list of trims available with the Ertiga.
Despite sharing the same platform, the Rumion carries a few distinctive design updates that give it a different identity. It features a revised front grille with a mesh pattern, projector headlights, redesigned front and rear bumpers, and newly styled alloy wheels. These changes give it a slightly more premium and Toyota-like feel, helping it stand apart from its Maruti sibling.
Inside, the Rumion offers a comfortable and functional cabin. It gets a dual-tone black and beige dashboard finished with faux wood accents. On the features front, it includes cruise control, automatic climate control, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
Powering the Rumion is a 1.5-litre petrol engine that generates 102 hp and 138 Nm of peak torque. This engine can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a torque converter automatic transmission, both sending power to the front wheels. Toyota also offers a CNG variant of the Rumion, which produces 87 hp and 121 Nm, available only with a manual transmission.
In terms of efficiency, the petrol variant delivers a mileage of 20.5 km/l, while the CNG version offers an impressive 26.11 km/kg, thanks to a factory-fitted CNG kit.
While the latest price hike makes the Rumion slightly more expensive, it still remains an appealing option for families seeking a reliable, spacious, and fuel-efficient MPV with Toyota’s trusted brand backing.
