Jai Shankar Pandey alleges massive irregularities
Ayodhya: Following the announcement of the Bihar election results, veteran socialist leader Jai Shankar Pandey accused the Election Commission of failing to prevent large-scale electoral fraud, alleging systematic vote-buying. Pandey said the Election Commission acted like a puppet in the hands of the BJP. "The SIR held in Bihar created lakhs of ghost voters in every constituency, and those responsible for ensuring free and fair elections cast votes in the names of these ghost voters," Pandey alleged.
He claimed the irregularities persisted despite multiple complaints and accused the poll body of inaction.
He further said that the issue of SIR was strongly raised by Akhilesh Yadav, Rahul Gandhi, and other senior opposition leaders, but due to the lack of effective and meaningful action, a large number of legitimate voters were deprived of their right to vote.
