For nearly six days, the disappearance remained a puzzle for Uttarakhand Police, Railway Police, and several other agencies. Police have now recovered Pragya Singh and taken her into custody. Her family has also been informed.
However, the biggest question in this missing woman from train case still remains unanswered. How did Pragya Singh disappear from the train, and under what circumstances did she reach Bihar? Police are now expected to piece together the entire sequence of events based on her statement.
According to her husband Manish, the couple was having a normal conversation until the train reached Haridwar. After that, he fell asleep.
Manish said that when the train approached Muzaffarnagar station, he woke up and noticed that Pragya Singh was no longer on her seat. At first, he assumed she had gone to the washroom. But when she did not return for a long time, he started searching the entire train.
When the train stopped at the station, a search was carried out there too, but no information could be found in the Pragya Singh missing case .
After that, the Railway Police were informed, and later the matter was transferred to the Roorkee police station. Police registered a missing person complaint and began an investigation.
According to Manish, cameras at both stations were not functioning. Because of this, investigators could not even confirm whether Pragya Singh had got off the train or not.
Fearing the possibility of some untoward incident, police also launched a search operation along the railway tracks and nearby areas. Several kilometres of track were examined, but no clue emerged.
That is exactly why the Pragya Singh missing case was gradually turning into a blind case.
Multiple teams from Uttarakhand Police, Railway Police, and other agencies continued working continuously to trace her.
A police team immediately reached Begusarai and safely recovered her.
Her husband Manish said that police have informed him about her recovery, and there is a possibility that Pragya Singh may soon be brought to Laksar.
Only after that, officials believe, will the full truth behind the Kedarnath yatra missing case come to light.
Officials say her statement will make it clear whether she left voluntarily, whether there was any pressure involved, or whether some other reason lies behind the incident.
Meanwhile, family members, who had been staying in Roorkee for the past six days as the search continued, have finally breathed a sigh of relief.
