A mother’s worst nightmare came true in Noida’s Sector 137 when a 15-month-old girl was brutally assaulted at a daycare facility. The horrific incident, captured on CCTV, showed an attendant slapping, biting, and throwing the crying child to the ground - all while the daycare owner stood by without intervening.
Disturbing Discovery
The child’s mother, Monica, who lives in Paras Tierea, had been sending her daughter to “Blippi” daycare for two hours daily since May. On Monday, she noticed her daughter was unusually irritable after pickup. Later at home, Monica was horrified to find bite marks on the toddler’s thighs.
A doctor confirmed the injuries were human bite marks. Determined to find out what happened, Monica rushed to the daycare and demanded to see the CCTV footage.
CCTV Footage Reveals Shocking Abuse
The footage revealed that Sonali, an attendant who had joined the daycare just 10 days earlier, pinned the toddler to the floor, slapped her repeatedly, struck her with a plastic bat, and even bit her. Despite the child’s frantic cries, the daycare owner, Charu, stood by and did nothing to comfort or protect the girl.
When confronted, both Charu and Sonali allegedly misbehaved with Monica and issued threats.
Police Action and Charges
Following Monica’s complaint at Sector 142 police station, an FIR was registered against Charu and Sonali under sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and 352 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police have taken Sonali into custody, and the toddler has undergone a medical examination to assess her injuries. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
