Punjab kabaddi player Tejpal shot dead by unidentified youths in Jagraon's Giddarwindi village
PTC Web Desk: A kabaddi player was shot dead in a broad daylight near the SSP office in Jagraon, Ludhiana district. The victim, identified as 23-year-old Tejpal Singh, was a resident of Giddarwindi village. He sustained a bullet injury to his chest and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The incident occurred on Dr Hari Singh Road, just a short distance from the SSP office. According to eyewitnesses, the assailants arrived in a car and opened fire on Tejpal before fleeing the scene.
Police officials, including the DSP and City Police team, reached the spot immediately after the shooting and began an investigation. Preliminary reports suggest the murder may have been the result of a personal rivalry.
Investigators are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace the vehicle and identify the suspects. It is also reported that the culprits first rammed Tejpal’s car to stop him and then fired multiple shots, killing him on the spot.
