In a disturbing incident that has sparked outrage online, a 25-year-old woman was brutally assaulted at a private clinic in Kalyan, Maharashtra, for simply doing her job.

The attack took place on Monday evening at Shree Balachitikha Clinic, where receptionist Sonali Kalasare was assaulted by Gokul Jha after she asked him to wait his turn to see the doctor. A video of the horrific attack has since gone viral, showing the man kicking and dragging her by the hair in full public view.

What led to the attack?

According to reports, Sonali, who lives in Pisavali village, was on duty at the clinic of Dr Aniket Palande. Around 6:25 PM, a couple with a sick baby arrived at the clinic, accompanied by Jha. As Dr Palande was busy with medical representatives and other patients, Sonali requested Jha to wait.

Instead of cooperating, Jha reportedly hurled abuses at her. When Sonali asked him to stop, he left—only to return moments later and launch a violent assault, punching, kicking, and dragging her across the reception area.

The shocking moment was captured on CCTV and widely shared on social media, prompting public condemnation.
