Shocking Video: Man Survives Terrifying Fall After Bungee Jump Mishap in Rishikesh
A thrilling adventure turned into a nightmare for a 23-year-old man from Gurgaon when a bungee jump malfunctioned at the Shivpuri Thrill Factory in Rishikesh. The incident took place on Wednesday, November 12, and sent shockwaves across social media after a video of the fall went viral.
The Terrifying Fall
The man, identified as Sonu Kumar, reportedly plunged nearly 35 metres when the rope suddenly broke. The video shows him crashing onto a tin sheet and writhing in pain while the broken rope hangs lifelessly above him. Bystanders can be heard panicking as they rush to help.
Officials confirmed that Sonu sustained serious chest injuries and was immediately rushed to AIIMS Rishikesh. Doctors later shared that he had responded to treatment and was out of danger.
No Complaint Filed Yet
Despite the alarming nature of the accident, police revealed that Sonu’s family has not filed a complaint. As a result, an FIR has not been registered. However, officers from the Muni Ki Reti police station have begun an inquiry and called in a technical team to investigate what went wrong.
Authorities are looking into whether the accident was caused by operator negligence or a mechanical failure.“ We are finding out if it was caused due to the negligence of the operator or the machine. We will check if the firm is complying with all norms,” an officer stated.
Adventure Park Shut Down
Tehri Garhwal District Magistrate Nikita Khandelwal told TOI, “I have ordered an inquiry into the matter and all activities at Thrill Factory have been suspended until the probe is complete. A safety audit of all companies involved in adventure activities is also being conducted.”
Awaiting Victim’s Statement
Police said they would record Sonu’s statement once doctors give medical clearance.
