Tennis LIVE: Jannik Sinner warned by Carlos Alcaraz immediately after ATP Finals win
The ATP Tour season reached a fitting conclusion in Turin on Sunday as Jannik Sinner faced Carlos Alcaraz for the title in Turin. The two young champions have split the Grand Slam titles and shared the No. 1 ranking this year - but it was Sinner who came out on top at the ATP Finals.
Alcaraz may have secured the year-end No. 1 ranking this week but Sinner successfully defended his crown in Turin, winning 7-6(4) 7-5 in Sunday's final. Sinner is now on an extraordinary 31-match winning streak indoors and has won 20 consecutive sets at the ATP Finals. The Italian bagged £3.86m ($5.07m) in prize money as an undefeated champion.
It brings Sinner's 2025 season to an end. It's been a year of highs and lows, as the world No. 2 served a three-month suspension from February to May, but also picked up six titles, including trophies at the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
The 24-year-old has opted not to join the Italian team at next week's Davis Cup Finals, having helped his country lift the trophy in 2023 and 2024, and will now head into the off-season. But Alcaraz has one more week left on the tour before he can take a well-deserved break, as the world No. 1 will represent Spain at the Davis Cup in Bologna.
