A viral video from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, shows a woman dangerously perched on the fuel tank of a moving motorcycle, hugging the rider as they sped through Ramgarhtal Road in broad daylight. Captured by bystanders, the stunt quickly spread online, prompting police action.

Though the rider wore a helmet, the woman’s risky position drew sharp criticism. Police later traced the motorcycle and issued a ₹2,500 challan for traffic violations . The couple, however, remains unidentified, officials confirmed.

SP Traffic Sanjay Kumar confirmed that police traced the motorcycle and issued a challan to the rider.

The video, meanwhile, triggered outrage online. Netizens slammed the couple for risking lives in the name of thrill. One user wrote, “Nowadays, the youth are ready to do anything to become famous. When the police impose heavy fines for violating traffic rules, the feeling of romance will disappear between the two. Then they will forget to romance on the road."

Another called them “This shameless couple is breaking traffic rules and nothing else," added the other. “I sometimes wonder, are they really born in simple families, or do they come from some different planet and don’t know how to live a decent social life?"

This isn’t the first such stunt to grab headlines. Just last month in Navi Mumbai’s Kharghar, 24-year-old Nazmeen Sulde went viral after dancing barefoot on the bonnet of a moving Mercedes-Benz. The act, inspired by the trending “Aura Farming Dance,” was filmed while her boyfriend, Al-fesh Shaikh, drove the car-sparking outrage and police action.

From cars to bikes, such dangerous attempts at “viral fame” are becoming alarmingly frequent. Authorities continue to warn that chasing online attention should never come at the cost of road safety.
