A Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable in Delhi has landed in controversy after a viral video showed him slapping a young passenger and forcing him towards a train’s open door, sparking outrage over passenger safety and official conduct.

The clip, widely shared on X (formerly Twitter), captures the officer dragging the man reportedly travelling without a ticket towards the exit, as fellow passengers plead for him to stop. Instead of imposing a fine or asking the passenger to alight at the next station, the officer’s aggressive action shocked many onlookers.

One user wrote: “If the boy is travelling without a ticket, then fine him, or make him get off at the next station. But why throw him off a moving train? Wearing a uniform doesn’t make you God.” Thousands echoed similar sentiments, calling for strict action against the officer and accountability from the Railway Ministry.

Public Still Unconvinced

Despite the clarification, social media users remain unconvinced, stressing that the officer’s aggressive handling was unnecessary, regardless of whether the passenger was ticketless or had pulled the chain.

With the inquiry still in progress, the RPF has assured that 'appropriate action' will follow once the investigation concludes. Until then, the viral video continues to fuel debate about how law enforcers should exercise authority on India’s busy railways.
