IPU announces stray counselling for medical and nursing admissions and extends qualifying results deadline to 30 November
IPU stray counselling 2025: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IPU) has announced the stray round counselling for medical and nursing admissions. The move provides a final opportunity for students to secure seats in the university’s MBBS (Code 103) and BSc (Hons) Nursing (Code 115) programmes. Applicants interested in either course can now complete their registration for the stray round counselling before the deadline.

Alongside this, IPU has extended the last date for submitting qualifying examination results to 30 November. The extension ensures that students whose results were delayed by other universities still have the opportunity to complete their admission process. This deadline does not apply to programmes where admission is solely based on qualifying exam merit.
Registration and form correction details
Students must register online for the stray round counselling by November 17. Those who have already applied can make corrections to their application forms, including region, category, and rank details, until the same date. IPU has emphasised that accurate form details are crucial for the counselling process and seat allocation.
Document upload requirements
Applicants are required to upload all necessary documents to complete the counselling process. This includes the NEET UG rank card, academic certificates, and any applicable reservation certificates. Ensuring that all documents are uploaded correctly by the deadline is essential for eligibility in the stray round counselling.
Program selection and seat allocation
Students must select their preferred colleges and programmes during the registration process. The university will consider choices in conjunction with merit and seat availability. The stray round counselling allows candidates another chance to secure a seat in the MBBS or BSc (Hons) Nursing programmes if they were unable to during the initial rounds.
Extended deadline for qualifying exam results
Initially, the deadline for submitting qualifying examination results was October 31. IPU extended this to 30 November in response to delays in result announcements from several universities. The extension ensures that no eligible student is left out due to late results while maintaining clarity that this does not affect admissions based on merit alone.
For more information, students can visit IPU’s official websites at www.ipu.ac.in and www.ipu.admissions.nic.in.
