WBJEE Results 2025: Why are the entrance exam results delayed in West Bengal?
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has delayed the release of the WBJEE 2025 results, causing growing anxiety among one lakh candidates.

The situation has left students in a state of confusion, especially those who appeared for both WBJEE and JEE Main. As the JoSAA counselling process for IITs and NITs is already underway, candidates are now caught in a dilemma over whether to confirm seats at central institutes or wait for WBJEE results.
“Students fear that they might lose their seats in IITs and NITs if WBJEE results are not announced anytime soon,” Times Now reported. “On the other hand, if they lock seats elsewhere, they will lose the chance to gain admission to Jadavpur University.”
This is especially significant for students from financially weaker backgrounds, as Jadavpur University (JU) offers quality education at comparatively lower fees.
Even faculty members are raising concerns. The Jadavpur University Teachers’ Association (JUTA) has now demanded that the WBJEE 2025 results be declared without further delay. “They fear a loss of talent, as students will ultimately choose IITs/NITs due to the uncertain postponement of the WBJEE outcome,” the report added.
In the meantime, students have taken to social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) to express their frustration, share pleas, and demand clarity from authorities.
