Fans blame HYBE as Bieber drops album on BLACKPINK's comeback day

BLACKPINK have officially ended their three-year hiatus with the release of their highly anticipated new single, JUMP! The track, along with its music video, is set to drop this Friday, July 11, 2025, across all major digital and streaming platforms. A 30-second teaser has already generated major buzz, featuring billboards of LISA, JENNIE, ROSÉ, and JISOO lighting up a city skyline before cutting to a striking mural of the group on a brick wall.

But BLACKPINK won't be the only major act making noise on July 11. TWICE and ATEEZ are also releasing new music, setting the stage for a fierce chart showdown. Adding to the unexpected competition, Justin Bieber is dropping his long-awaited seventh studio album the same day. According to sources, the project includes features from Gunna, Sexyy Red, and Cash Cobain — marking what could be one of the year’s biggest release days.

HYBE accused of sabotaging BLACKPINK

Justin Bieber releasing music on the same day as BLACKPINK has sparked accusations of sabotage from BLINKs - with much of the blame directed at HYBE, the company behind BTS. Fans argue that the timing is no coincidence, pointing to Bieber’s indirect connection to HYBE Corporation. In 2021, HYBE America - a subsidiary of HYBE - acquired Ithaca Holdings, the management company owned by Scooter Braun, which represents Justin Bieber and several other major artists.

Though Bieber isn’t directly signed to HYBE, his management operates under a HYBE-owned company, effectively placing him under the HYBE umbrella. For many BLACKPINK fans, that’s enough to believe the clash was intentional - and that HYBE orchestrated it to undercut BLACKPINK's long-awaited comeback.

One said, "Girl, knowing that Justin is under HYBE… they're not even tryna hide their obsession anymore. Oh FATPD, make it less obvious at least."

Another said, "Everybody dropping this tonight or what? What’s going on?"

One wrote, "Notice how Justin is under HYBE… oh, they're keeping tabs."

Another added, "Justin taking advantage of BLACKPINK's relevance because he's khia."

While many fans found the conspiracy talk amusing and downright absurd, they were still eager to see what Justin Bieber would be putting out after four years.

About Justin Bieber's album: SWAG

A billboard featuring Justin Bieber and the word Swag began going viral on Thursday, July 10 — first spotted in Iceland and later seen on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. The mysterious signage has sparked speculation that Swag may be the title of Bieber’s upcoming album, though nothing has been officially confirmed. On the same day, Bieber added fuel to the speculation by posting several photos and videos that appear to reveal the album's tracklist.
