Racing to Success: Brad Pitt's F1 Inches Closer to Rs 30 Crore Mark in India, Fans are Loving it

Brad Pitt’s adrenaline-fueled racing drama F1 is proving to be a winner at the Indian box office. After five days in theatres, the high-octane film has grossed approximately ₹28.93 crore and is now speeding toward the ₹30 crore milestone. Released on June 27, F1 had a strong opening weekend, raking in ₹21.4 crore despite facing stiff competition from Indian titles like Maa and Kannappa.

On Monday, the film saw a slight dip with collections of ₹3.35 crore. However, Tuesday brought a positive boost, with early estimates by Sacnilk reporting earnings of ₹4.18 crore. The film maintained steady occupancy across India, especially for its English-language shows.

Occupancy and City-Wise Response
On July 1 (Tuesday), F1 recorded a national average occupancy of 28.25% for English screenings. Morning shows saw 11.32% turnout, which rose to 26.10% in the afternoon, peaked at 32.88% in the evening, and hit a high of 42.68% during night shows. Major metro cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, and Hyderabad drove the film’s box office momentum.

Global Box Office and Star Power
Globally, F1: The Movie has had a stellar performance, collecting $140 million in its opening weekend, including $55.6 million from the U.S. alone. The film earned an impressive $25 million on its first day.

Directed by Top Gun: Maverick’s Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and F1 icon Lewis Hamilton, F1 stars Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a retired F1 driver making a comeback. Damson Idris plays his rookie teammate Joshua Pearce. The ensemble cast includes Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, and Javier Bardem, with real-life F1 stars like Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and Carlos Sainz making special appearances.
