Sameera Reddy vs Pishach: Gripping First Look of Chimni Will Leave You Spellbound
Back from a long break, actress Sameera Reddy returns with a strong bang to the silver screen with the supernatural thriller Chimni. She stars in the film as Kali, a mother fighting off grief and supernatural entities while trying to rescue her daughter from an evil spirit. The film’s setting against the spooky backdrop of an ancient palace named Chanderi provides an atmospheric richness to its scare-to-the-bone story.
The teaser, released on July 10, has already generated buzz among the public. It starts with Kali taking a careful step in the dark, carrying a lamp, with a look of horror on her face. The tension rises as a spooky hand comes up from a well, signifying the existence of an evil spirit or pishach. A spooky voiceover indicates the storyline: “The pishach will begin his game once again.”. he will attempt to dominate desire, fury, greed and haughtiness. Upon success, he will attain immortality.”
As Kali ponders the solution, a voice cautions her that the spirit can only be halted by self-sacrifice. The tension and emotional risk suggested in the teaser promises Sameera an intense, textured performance.
Sameera Reddy’s Comeback Gains Buzz
Sharing her excitement, Sameera posted the first look of Chimni on Instagram earlier this week, writing: “You can’t handle the truth. I’m back. Please show me some love on this interesting project that will be coming soon.”
Sameera last appeared in the long-pending film Naam (2024) with Ajay Devgn. Her previous lead role was in the Kannada film Varadhanayaka (2013). Although she had walked away from films for more than a decade, she was a popular name on social media with her honest, inspiring, and witty posts.
The release of Chimni has not been announced yet.
