The Investigation Continues! Asur Season 3 Announced with Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti
Popular psychological thriller Asur is finally coming back officially for a much-awaited third season. As per trusted sources of PeepingMoon.com, Jio Hotstar has approved Asur 3, almost two years after the huge success of Season 2, which had released in 2023 and emerged as one of the most-watched Indian streaming shows of the year.
Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti Reunite
Fan favorite pair Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti will return as forensic experts Dhananjay Rajput and Nikhil Nair. Series creator and writer Gaurav Shukla has been working on the script for the past two years, and production should start by the end of 2025. The third season is aiming for a late 2026 release.
Myth Meets Mind: A New Chapter of Darkness
The initial two seasons mesmerized audiences with its gripping storytelling as it pitted forensic intellects against a serial killer who is convinced that he is the mythological demon Kali. Merging Indian mythology with intense psychological themes, Asur drew across-the-board acclaim for its intellectual storytelling, philosophical depth, and suspense-driven plot.

Season 3 guarantees to heighten the stakes even more, exploring darker psychological battles and bringing a new perspective to the timeless struggle between chaos and order. Creators want to enhance the mythological nods without losing the cliffhanging excitement.
New Director In The Works as Oni Sen Stepped Down
One key change for the next season is in direction. Oni Sen, who directed seasons one and two, won’t be back because of conflicting shooting schedules. He is directing a big Netflix war drama on Operation Safed Sagar featuring Siddharth, Jimmy Sheirgill, Dia Mirza, and Abhay Verma. The Asur team is now hunting for a new director to direct the ambitious season three.
