The Kuberaa Effect! Dhanush's Film Achieves a Significant Milestone at Indian Box Office

Dhanush-starrer Kuberaa continues its consistent run at the box office as it enters its second week. Having put up a strong ₹65 crore net in the first week, the crime drama picked up pace with a good showing on Day 8, even as new competition materialized at the box office.
Day 8 Performance Sees Mild Dip
In accordance with initial estimates by Sacnilk, Kuberaa collected ₹2.50 crore net on its second Friday, a 25.37% fall from Day 7’s collection of ₹3.35 crore. The drop was expected with the coming of new releases, but the film’s hold onto shows and audience interest is viewed as good for a second-week show.
The net collection now totals ₹71.5 crore and when the GST adjustment is factored in, the gross collection has clocked ₹84.37 crore in India. This is impressive, given this is a regional crime thriller with barely any pan-India promotion.
Telugu Market Senses the Heat of Kannappa
Though Kuberaa keeps humming along in all other markets, Telugu market saw show count dip marginally owing to the arrival of Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa. Insipite of that, the film still manages to attract footfalls on account of good word-of-mouth and positive word-of-mouth.

Outlook: Strong Weekend Expected
With weekend traffics usually stronger, Kuberaa would be expected to bounce back with a great second week and contribute heavily to its overall second-week tally. Dhanush’s powerful performance and the engaging story have also appealed to masses as much as the classes, providing the film with the legs it would need to run longer at the box office.
Based on current trends, Kuberaa is likely to cross the ₹100 crore worldwide gross in the next few days.
