A woman from Rajasthan, dressed in a saree and covering her head with a ghunghat, took the internet by storm after dancing to Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie. The video has already crossed 3.8 million views online and even caught the attention of global star Priyanka Chopra, who liked the clip.

The performance begins with her nailing Shakira’s signature hook steps from the 2006 hit before blending in her own graceful moves — all while effortlessly managing her saree and ghunghat.

Social media users were quick to shower praise. One commented, “Respect, the way she dances and covers herself, hats off rani.” Another added, “Madam, along with dancing, the way you carry your pallu is impressive. Hats off.”

For many, her attire became just as fascinating as the dance. A user said, “The entire performance, I just concentrated on how perfectly and gracefully she was handling her saree.” Others found it refreshing, with one writing, “First time to see good dance on Instagram.”

Viewers also expressed how uplifting the clip felt. “I am watching this reel after a tiring day, and this made me feel so happy. Watched so many times already,” said one.

The song Hips Don’t Lie, originally released in 2006 by Shakira and Wyclef Jean, became a global anthem thanks to its catchy beats and cultural influences rooted in Colombian and belly-dancing styles. Over the years, its title has grown into a widely recognised pop-culture phrase.

From pleats of a saree to Shakira’s global beats, this Rajasthani performer proved that grace knows no boundaries and can capture hearts across the world.
