Eligible farmers across India may soon receive the 21st instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana, with disbursal expected by the end of November 2025. While an official date is yet to be announced by the government, the timing aligns with the scheme’s established pattern of releasing instalments every four months. The upcoming instalment will continue to support millions of farmers by providing crucial financial assistance directly into their bank accounts.

The PM-Kisan Yojana, launched in February 2019, is one of the central government’s flagship welfare schemes designed to support the livelihood of small and marginal farmers across the country. Under this initiative, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 per year in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

KYC: A Crucial Step for Continued Benefits

To ensure uninterrupted payments, the government has reiterated that farmers must complete their e-KYC and Aadhaar linkage formalities before the instalment is released. Failure to do so may result in a delay or rejection of the benefit transfer.

The Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process is mandatory to confirm the authenticity of beneficiaries and eliminate duplicate or fraudulent entries. Farmers whose bank accounts are not linked with Aadhaar or who have discrepancies in their names, account details, or mobile numbers may face interruptions in receiving funds.

The government’s aim is to ensure transparency and efficiency in fund disbursement, ensuring that the money reaches only genuine beneficiaries.

The Role of Point of Contact (POC) for Farmers

For any queries related to the PM-Kisan scheme, beneficiaries can approach their designated Point of Contact (POC). The POC acts as a bridge between farmers and the scheme administrators, helping to resolve issues such as:

  • e-KYC or Aadhaar verification failures

  • Incorrect or mismatched bank details

  • Mobile number irregularities

  • Delay or non-receipt of instalment

  • If a farmer does not receive the instalment after the official release date, the POC can initiate an inquiry into the matter. In certain cases, physical verification of the beneficiary may be conducted to confirm eligibility. This process ensures that only authentic farmers receive the monetary assistance, preventing misuse of government funds.

States Already Receiving the 21st Instalment

The Ministry of Agriculture has already released the 21st PM-Kisan instalment for certain states, including Punjab, Haryana , and Himachal Pradesh. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan officially rolled out the instalment on September 26, 2025, transferring the funds directly to the accounts of eligible beneficiaries in these regions.

The phased rollout suggests that farmers in other states will soon begin receiving their benefits, likely by the end of November.

    How the PM-Kisan Scheme Works

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, every eligible landholding farmer receives ₹6,000 annually, disbursed in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each. The funds are transferred through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism, ensuring transparency and reducing delays associated with manual disbursements.

Since its inception, the scheme has benefited more than 11 crore farmers across India, serving as a vital source of income support for agricultural households facing challenges such as inflation, input costs, and unpredictable weather conditions.

Importance of Aadhaar and Bank Linkage

One of the key prerequisites for receiving PM-Kisan benefits is the linkage of the farmer’s Aadhaar with their bank account. This linkage ensures secure and seamless transactions, preventing fraudulent claims.

    Farmers are urged to:

    • Verify that their Aadhaar number is linked to their bank account.

    • Ensure their mobile number registered with Aadhaar is active for authentication.

  • Regularly update bank details in case of account changes.

  • The government has clarified that only farmers who have completed e-KYC and Aadhaar-bank linkage will receive the upcoming instalment.

    How to Complete PM-Kisan e-KYC

Farmers can easily complete their e-KYC in one of the following ways:

    1. Online via PM-Kisan Portal – Visit pmkisan.gov.in and select the ‘e-KYC’ option on the homepage. Enter Aadhaar details and verify through an OTP sent to the registered mobile number.

    2. Offline at Common Service Centres (CSCs) – Farmers can visit nearby CSCs to complete biometric authentication if online verification fails.

  • Through Agricultural Offices – Local agriculture offices can assist farmers in resolving technical issues or updating incorrect details.

  • Completing e-KYC ensures that future instalments are credited seamlessly without interruptions.

    Common Issues Affecting Instalment Credit

Even after successful registration, some farmers face delays in receiving payments due to:

    • Mismatch in names between Aadhaar and bank records.

    • Inactive or incorrect bank accounts.

    Government’s Commitment to Farmers

The central government continues to view PM-Kisan as a cornerstone of rural financial empowerment. Since its launch, the scheme has disbursed over ₹2.8 lakh crore in cumulative payments, reflecting the government’s ongoing commitment to supporting small and marginal farmers.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has reaffirmed that the ministry is working towards ensuring timely and transparent payments under PM-Kisan, especially through enhanced verification systems and simplified grievance redressal mechanisms.

What Farmers Should Do Before the Next Instalment

To avoid delays in the 21st instalment, farmers should immediately:
    • Complete or update e-KYC through the official PM-Kisan portal or nearest CSC.
    • Verify Aadhaar-bank linkage to ensure correct account details.
    • Contact their POC or local authorities if they have faced any issues in previous instalments.
    • Regularly check the status of their application on pmkisan.gov.in.
By ensuring these steps are completed, farmers can secure their eligibility for future disbursements.
