A special birthday for Moumita

Sahitya Academy Award-winning author Moumita turned a year younger on Wednesday. Her husband, Nigel Akkara , made the most of the opportunity to turn her day special. Moumita said that even though she doesn’t like to celebrate her birthday, Nigel leaves no stone unturned to make it special for her.
Despite being at work all day, the couple kicked off the celebrations on Tuesday midnight itself. “He was the first one to wish me and give me a birthday present,” said Moumita. Since his wife is currently on a special diet, Nigel didn’t arrange for a cake. However, on Wednesday morning, Nigel’s mother surprised Moumita with a special cake made using oats. “I simply loved the gesture as well as the cake,” she added.

In the evening, the couple went out for a special dinner. “We both love continental food. We went to this really nice place I know in central Kolkata,” said Nigel. He even wished her on Facebook with a lovely message that read “Happy birthday pretty lady. Your birthday is special to me sweet heart it is a day to cherish all those memories we share. Love you.. (sic)”
But more than anything, Moumita is really excited about her and Nigel’s upcoming motorcycle trip. At the end of this month, they will go on a road trip to North Sikkim. Two more bikers will be joining the couple. Nigel, who is going for such a trip for the first time after planning for very long, is equally excited.
