If your number is already registered, you can now change or update it via the UIDAI's Self-Service Update Portal (SSUP). However, if your Aadhaar does not have any number linked, you still need to visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra.

Steps to Update Aadhaar Mobile Number Online

Follow these steps to update your mobile number in Aadhaar from the comfort of your home:

1. Visit the UIDAI Self-Service Update Portal at https://ssup.uidai.gov.in.
   
   
2. Click on "Proceed to Update Aadhaar".
   
   
3. Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and complete the CAPTCHA verification.
   
   
4. Request OTP, which will be sent to your currently registered mobile number.
   
   
5. After entering OTP, choose “Mobile Number” as the field to be updated.

Enter your new mobile number and submit the request.

Confirm and verify the update using OTP sent to your new mobile number.

Upon successful submission, you will receive a Service Request Number (SRN) to track your update status.

Is Any Fee Required

As per UIDAI’s current guidelines, no charges are levied for updating mobile numbers online through the Self-Service Update Portal. However, if you go to an Aadhaar centre, a nominal fee of Rs. 50 is usually applicable.

How Long Does It Take to Update
