FREE Aadhaar Update Deadline Extended Till June 14: How To Avail Free Online Service

The Unique Identification Authority of India ( UIDAI ) announced on Tuesday that it has prolonged the period for free online document uploads until June 14 , 2024. This decision aims to benefit millions of Aadhaar holders across the nation.


Through a message posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), UIDAI stated, "#UIDAI extends free online document upload facility till 14th June 2024; to benefit millions of Aadhaar holders. This free service is available only on the #myAadhaar portal. UIDAI has been encouraging people to keep documents updated in their #Aadhaar."


This extension marks the second prolongation granted by UIDAI, following the previous deadline extension from December 15, 2023.


Residents are encouraged to update and upload their identity and address proof documents to ensure the accuracy of their demographic details, particularly if their Aadhaar was issued a decade ago and hasn't been updated since. Until June 14, 2024, citizens can make use of this opportunity to update their Aadhaar card documents at zero cost.

  • Visit the official Aadhaar portal - Navigate to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ and log in using the One-Time Password (OTP) provided.
  • Review your current documents - If the documents are correct, click on the 'I verify that the above details are correct' option. If there are inaccuracies, proceed with the following steps.
  • Select the identity document - Choose the appropriate identity document from the drop-down list.
  • Upload the identity document - Upload the selected document in a format of PNG, JPEG, or PDF, and ensure it is less than 2 MB in size.
  • Choose the address document - From the drop-down list, select the relevant address document.
  • Upload the address document - Similar to the identity document, upload the address document in PNG, JPEG, or PDF format, ensuring it's less than 2 MB in size.
  • Submit your documents - Click on the 'Submit' button to confirm the upload of your documents.
