A welcome spell of rain is on the horizon for many parts of India as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued fresh weather alerts. From the northern plains to the southern coasts, several regions are expected to receive light to heavy rainfall in the coming days, offering respite from the recent heatwave but also prompting caution.

Rain to Drench Delhi-NCR and Neighbouring States
Heavy showers are expected in Delhi-NCR on Monday, accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of up to 60 kmph. The maximum temperature is likely to drop to around 33°C, while the minimum may hover near 27°C. Other northern states including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Haryana are also on alert for significant rainfall activity.

Thunderstorms, Gusty Winds Expected in UP
Parts of western Uttar Pradesh may face thunderstorms and lightning, prompting the IMD to urge residents to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel. Temporary disruptions like waterlogging and power cuts could also follow the showers.

Bihar to Receive Widespread Rainfall
Several districts in Bihar - such as Gaya, Nalanda, Motihari, and Purnia - are likely to see substantial rainfall. While this is a boon for farmers, the IMD recommends postponing financial or outdoor agricultural activities during this period.

Rain Forecast for Western and Southern States
Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka are all expected to receive varied intensity of rainfall in the coming days. The IMD has also warned of possible thunderstorms and strong winds in these regions, advising people to stay cautious and follow safety guidelines.

Relief with a Side of Caution
While the rainfall will bring down temperatures by 2–4°C and offer relief from the sweltering heat, residents are advised to prepare for possible urban flooding and minor disruptions. IMD suggests limiting outdoor movement and following local advisories to stay safe.
