Brace for a rainy week ahead! The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast intense rainfall across several parts of North India, including Delhi-NCR, today, July 15. While the capital enjoyed a cool respite on Monday, more showers are on the way. Multiple states - ranging from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to Himachal and Rajasthan - are on alert as weather conditions remain unstable till the end of the week.

Delhi-NCR Braces for Another Rainy Day
Following Monday’s downpour, Delhi and surrounding areas are expected to witness heavy rain again today. The IMD has indicated continued rainfall activity till July 18, keeping the weather pleasant but potentially causing localised disruptions.

Red Alert in Rajasthan, Orange in Uttarakhand
Rajasthan is on high alert with a red warning for heavy rains in divisions like Kota, Jaipur, Ajmer, and Jodhpur. In neighbouring Uttarakhand, an orange alert has been sounded for Dehradun, Bageshwar and Nainital. Light rain is expected in other districts as well.

Heavy Rainfall Across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar
Thirteen districts in Uttar Pradesh - including Varanasi, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Jaunpur, and Ballia - are expected to experience heavy showers today.
In Bihar, areas like Patna, Nalanda, Ara, and Aurangabad may receive intense rainfall, prompting authorities to stay on high alert.

Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh Weather Forecast
The hills of Himachal Pradesh are in for a wet week with a yellow alert in place for Mandi, Shimla, and Solan till July 17.
Meanwhile, several parts of Madhya Pradesh could see light to moderate showers, which may help lower temperatures but won’t bring much relief from humidity.

Maharashtra, Goa, and Northeast India Also on Rain Watch
Parts of Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and the Ghat regions of Gujarat may receive very heavy rain today.
In Northeast India, rain with thunder and lightning is expected to continue over the next week. States like Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Tripura may face isolated heavy rainfall events between July 13 and 18.

With widespread rainfall across the country, residents are advised to stay alert, follow local advisories, and plan their travel accordingly. While the showers may bring relief from the summer heat, they also come with risks of waterlogging, landslides, and traffic disruptions.
