PM Fasal Bima Yojana: Coverage, Documents & Registration; Step-By-Step Guide

As July ushers in heavy monsoon rains across many regions of India, farmers begin the vital sowing season for paddy and other Kharif crops. While the rain brings life to the fields, extreme weather conditions such as floods, droughts, or pest attacks can devastate standing crops in moments.
To protect farmers from these risks, the Indian government’s flagship initiative, the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), offers crop insurance and damage compensation. Farmers are urged to enrol before the official deadline on 31st July 2025 to ensure coverage for this season.
PMFBY 2025 Last Date for Registration
The Government of India has confirmed 31st July 2025 as the final date for farmers to register under PMFBY for Kharif crops.
What is PMFBY?
Launched in 2016, the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana helps farmers recover financially from crop losses due to unpredictable weather or pests. The scheme is managed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, in partnership with state governments and insurance companies.
