Video: Rahul Gandhi Kissed by Man During Bihar Yatra, Guard Reacts With Slap

Rahul Gandhi ’s ongoing Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar took an unusual turn on Sunday when a man managed to break through the security cordon and kiss him on the shoulder.

The incident happened on the Purnea-Araria stretch, where the Congress leader was riding a motorbike with RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav. A video from the scene shows the man hugging Gandhi before planting a kiss, only to be swiftly pulled back by security personnel, who then pushed him away from the convoy. No injuries or major disruption were reported.


The yatra, which began on August 17 from Sasaram, is a 16-day, 1,300-kilometre campaign aimed at highlighting alleged irregularities in Bihar’s voter rolls. Passing through more than 20 districts, it will culminate in a grand public rally in Patna on September 1.

Despite the brief scare, the rally continued as planned, with Gandhi and Yadav waving to large crowds gathered along the route. Supporters showered them with cheers, slogans, and warm welcomes as the convoy rolled into Araria.

The Congress leader and Tejashwi Yadav are expected to hold a joint press conference later in the day, joined by other INDIA bloc leaders. The yatra has so far seen massive participation, underlining its political significance as the opposition gears up for upcoming electoral battles.

While the security breach raised eyebrows, it also reflected the frenzied enthusiasm of crowds gathering to catch a glimpse of the leaders. The episode may have startled Gandhi’s security team, but it did little to dim the momentum of his high-voltage campaign.
