Kerry Katona's 'skeletons' laid bare as she admits that she 'just wanted to get away'
Kerry Katona has opened up about how there were "so many skeletons" in her closet and how she "just wanted to get away from it all" in a candid chat about her life. In a recent interview, the former Atomic Kitten star was probed about what she meant by a statement she made in a new BBC documentary series, Girlbands Forever, that fame is a "really f****d up thing".
Kerry, who's been touring with long-time friend Katie Price, reiterated her point that "it is", as she described how she'd simply wanted to entertain, "make people happy", and "inspire".
The 45-year-old I'm A Celeb winner also claimed that people believe you're "mega rich" when you become famous, but she suggested that this wasn't the case for her, noting that it's a "really lonely world".

- Primark's £23 pyjamas 'look just like' £119 set from Ralph Lauren
Kerry told the Observer: "They said we got a £1.5m record deal - well, I walked away with 36 grand in my bank. I didn't get any of that kind of money! It's a really lonely world."
She continued: "I started dating Brian (McFadden), then there were so many skeletons in my closet: doing the glamour modelling, being in foster homes, my mum's sexuality. I did not enjoy that kind of attention.
"When I became pregnant with Molly, I just wanted to get away from it all. I got a No 1 - I'm eternally grateful for that - but I didn't know how to handle it. I was suicidal. I turned to drugs."
The new three-part show, which delves into the world of girl bands from the 90s to the 2010s, reportedly explores the challenges faced by these legendary groups.
In other news, Kerry, who is currently datingPaolo Margaglione (whom she met on Celebs Go Dating), recently addressed some fake pregnancy news in her column for New Magazine, revealing that it was created by AI.
Kerry wrote: "Paolo and I were victims of AI last week when someone created a fake pregnancy reveal picture of us holding a baby scan, which was absolutely ridiculous.
"I actually got my hopes up when I saw it! Jokes aside, I think it’s a little bit insensitive to create those things, though. I’m a 45 year old woman who would really love to have another baby, but I don’t know whether it will happen or not."
She added that AI"in that sense" is "getting out of hand", adding that she would have loved the picture to have been real and will continue to hope that it "does happen", but at present, she's "definitely not pregnant".
Kerry has also expressed her desire that her new relationship "works" but will "never forget this feeling" if it doesn't.
Speaking on the Suddenly Single podcast, she said: "I hope it works, but even if it doesn’t, I’ll never forget this feeling. You see me falling in love [on Celebs Go Dating]. Even if this ends tomorrow, I don’t think I’ll have a feeling like this every again."
