'Most challenging role of my career': Jaaved Jaaferi on 'Mayasabha'

Veteran actor Jaaved Jaaferi has called his role in the upcoming film Mayasabha the most demanding of his four-decade career.

The actor revealed that it's the "best script" he has ever read.

Taking to Instagram recently, the actor shared, "This is the most powerful, physically and emotionally challenging role I have played in my 40-year career."

"It was an absolute adventure and pleasure working with @rahianilbarve. Really looking forward to this, and I'm sure movie lovers will relish it."

'Mayasabha' director Rahi Anil Barve's long journey

The film, directed by Rahi Anil Barve, has been a long journey for the filmmaker.

He reportedly started working on the project in 2018 after Tumbbad, finished it in 2020, but it has remained unreleased since then.

Jaaferi's poster, revealed recently, features him with long, silver-streaked hair and a golden mask.

The release date is not out yet.

Jaaferi's recent film 'De De Pyaar De 2'

Meanwhile, Jaaferi is currently seen in the romantic comedy De De Pyaar De 2.

The film also stars his son Meezaan, Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, and R Madhavan. Directed by Anshul Sharma, it was released on November 14.

The movie has received mixed to positive reviews.
