Rajasthan Budget 2025: 1.25 lakh government jobs announced, know other key points

Rajasthan Finance Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari on Tuesday presented Budget 2025 in the state assembly. Rajasthan Budget 2025 promises several initiatives, including employment guarantee for the youth, aimed at boosting employment opportunities. Apart from this, the budget focuses on water and power initiatives, which are likely to improve the state's infrastructure and services. Apart from this, road development schemes are also in the budget, which will improve connectivity and transportation within the state.

Notably, this is the second budget of the Rajasthan government led by Bhajan Lal Sharma. Presenting the budget, Finance Minister Diya Kumari said that the government plans to make Rajasthan a $350 billion economy by 2030.

He also said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has set records during its first term and the target is to achieve a GSDP of Rs 19,000 crore in 2025-26.

One of the major announcements made by the Finance Minister was that 1.25 lakh government jobs will be given to the youth next year.

Rajasthan Budget 2025: Highlights

Employment: 1.25 lakh government jobs will be given in the state next year. Apart from this, 1.5 lakh private jobs will be created under the Rajasthan Employment Policy 2025.

Water and Energy: 1,000 tubewells and 1,500 hand pumps will be installed in urban areas. Apart from this, 6,400 MW of additional energy will be generated to power 5 lakh new domestic connections and 50,000 agricultural connections.

Road Infrastructure: 9 greenfield expressways spanning 2,750 km will be built. Additionally, 1,600 settlements will be connected with tar roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana.

Social Welfare:

Pension for the elderly, widows, and disabled will be increased to Rs 1,250.

Women from self-help groups can now avail of loans up to Rs 1 lakh at 1.5% interest under the Lakhpati Didi category.

6,000 senior citizens will get air service and 50,000 will get AC coach train service for pilgrimage.

Agriculture: Farmers will get Rs 9,000 under the PM Kisan Yojana by next year.
