Repotting Made Easy: How to Move Plants Without Harming Roots

Repotting is like giving your plant a fresh new home. While it helps the plant grow healthier, it can be stressful for the roots if not done carefully. With the right steps, you can repot your plant smoothly without causing damage.

1. Pick the Right Time: Spring and early summer are ideal, as plants are actively growing. Avoid repotting during dormant months, when roots are less active.

2. Choose a Suitable Pot: Select a pot just 1-2 inches larger in diameter than the current one. Too big a jump can cause waterlogging and stress.

3. Prepare the Soil: Use fresh, well-draining potting mix suited to your plant type. Adding perlite or coco peat improves aeration, making roots breathe better.

4. Gently Remove the Plant: Loosen the soil around the edges of the pot. Turn the pot sideways, supporting the stem base, and slide the plant out slowly to avoid tearing roots.
