Sprinkled With Love, Laughter & A Cute Doggo, 'Cheesecake' Is On Top Of Our Binge-Watch List

One reality check that every love-struck Joe gets at some point or the other in his love life is that the initial rosy days are numbered. Eventually, there comes a phase when disagreements and monotony take center-stage. How then do people bask in their notions of ‘unconditional love’? One of the most endearing movies that brought out this sentiment was Marley & Me

(2011). Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson teamed up with the adorable furball ‘Marley’ and taught us a lesson on cutesy- lasting love. While my doggo-obsessed self has been yearning for a similar slice-of-life flick ever since, MX Player’s latest ‘Cheesecake’ came right in time to my rescue.

is as sweet and delightful as it sounds. The show revolves around Neel (played by Jitendra Kumar) and Sameera (played by Akanksha Thakur) who have rocked the boat of their marriage. With constant disagreements and contrasting priorities, this harrowed couple is hardly on the same page anymore. The future of this three-year-old marriage looks hopeless until a lost golden retriever tumbles into their lives and fills it with all-things-happy.

The relatable screenplay is bound to reel in viewers and keep them hooked. It brings out the nuances of millennial relationships, the eventual blowouts and the bittersweet dynamics. In addition to this, the cast does a fine job of bringing their characters to life. Be it Sameera’s impactful monologue about corporate slavery and a sad state of appraisals to Neel, who is basking in the glory of his big career break – the show scores big when it comes to being realistic.
