'Varanasi': Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra make grand appearances at GlobeTrotter event

Just as fans were celebrating the title launch of the highly anticipated SS Rajamouli directorial, 'Varanasi', the frenzy around the film hit a new high as lead stars Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra made striking appearances atthe grand event on Sunday night.

Stepping up on the big stage, the stars were greeted with thunderous applause and cheers from fans gathered at the venue. Mahesh Babu arrived in a brown jacket layered over a beige kurta and matching trousers. However, it was his accessory, a distinctive necklace and pendant featuring Lord Shiva’s trishul and Nandi, that stole the attention. The jewellery piece previously featured on his first-look poster, which was unveiled on his 50th birthday. The pendant has since fuelled speculation about possible mythological influences in Rajamouli’s upcoming epic.

At the venue, Mahesh took his place beside his daughter Sitara, who accompanied him for the evening, making it a memorable family moment.

Channelling her “desi girl” charm, she greeted the audience with folded hands, instantly going viral on social media. The film is special for the actress as it marks her return to Indian cinema after a long hiatus.



The 'Varanasi' event, previously called the 'GlobeTrotter' event, set the stage for a grand title reveal. The event that saw thousands of fans gathering at the Ramoji Film City will also feature a musical event for fans to get a first-hand experience of the film's music.

Mahesh remembers his late fatherAhead of the event, Mahesh got sentimental on social media, as he shared a throwback picture of his late father, actor Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy. Sharing the photo, he wrote, “Thinking of you a little more today… and knowing you'd be proud nanna.”
