Vishweshvara Vrat 2025 : Another name for Lord Shiva is Vishweshwara. Karnataka is the place, where Vishweshvara Vrat is most commonly seen. Lord Shiva is revered with great fervor at the Yelluru Shri Vishweshwara temple on this auspicious day. Vishweshvara Vrat 2025: Significance
The day is dedicated to Vishweshwara, or Lord Shiva, the Yellur Shri Vishweshwara Temple is also called the Mahathoshobhara Shri Vishweshwara Temple or Yelluru Vishweshwara Temple. It is situated in the little village of Yellur in the Karnataka district of Udupi. Twelve rock diktats mention the temple, which is over a thousand years old. The day is observed by all the South Indian hindus. They celebrate this day with great enthusiasm.

Vishweshvara Vrat 2025: Story
Kunda Raja, a Shudra monarch of the Kuthar dynasty, once reigned. The king invited Bhargava Muni to visit his realm. However, Bhargava Muni declined to visit, claiming that there are no temples or sacred rivers in the state.

The Kunda monarch was so dissatisfied that he fled the realm with one of his aides after learning about this. In order to appease Lord Shiva, he then proceeded to the Ganga River's banks to perform a magnificent Yagya. The dedication of the Kunda king pleased Lord Shiva, who granted his demand to be there in the kingdom. However, a tribal lady was searching her son in the forest when Lord Shiva was living in Kunda Raja's kingdom. She used her sword to cut down a tuber tree, but blood began to flow from the tree.

She believed he was her own son, not a tuber, after seeing that blood. When she saw all of this, she began to sob aloud and called her son "Yelu." At that location, Lord Shiva manifested as Linga. The temple constructed here is now known as Yellur Vishweshwara Temple.

It is claimed that the linga's mark is still visible today. According to legend, the tuber didn't stop bleeding on;y after the Kunda king poured coconut water on that. In this temple, offering Lord Shiva coconut water or coconut oil. To light the lamp, the given oil is stored in the temple. Tulsi Vivah, a significant Hindu festival which is celebrated with great devotion. Bhishma Panchak is also observed in this temple. On the day of Dev Diwali, followers of Lord Shiva take bath in the sacred Manikarnika ghat in the sacred Ganga river, and Vaikuntha Chaturdashi is also observed.

Vishweshvara Vrat 2025: Puja Rituals
Early morning bathing is recommended for devotees. In order to obtain Lord Shiva's blessings, devotees should keep the fast on this day. It is seen to be highly auspicious to offer Shiv lingam fruits, milk, and sweets on this day. The following morning, devotees should consume fresh Sattvik food to break their fast.
