Patrick Mahomes is bringing The Life of a Showgirl straight into Kansas City Chiefs preparations for their Week 5 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars . The quarterback confirmed that Taylor Swift ’s new album will be blasting throughout the team facility on Friday, just hours before its official midnight release.

Mahomes shared the news during his Thursday, Oct. 2, interview on Kansas City’s 96.5 FM “The Drive.” He also fueled buzz online earlier that day with a single heart-on-fire emoji on X, which fans immediately connected to Swift’s album drop.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City Chiefs will support Taylor Swift by playing her new album during practice
Mahomes explained that the entire Chiefs facility will hear The Life of a Showgirl while the team prepares for its upcoming game. “Oh, yeah, for sure. I’m super excited. I haven’t been able to hear the album yet, but I’m super excited to be able to do that,” Mahomes said. “It’ll be blaring all through the Chiefs facility tomorrow. We’ll be supporting Taylor, and she’s putting in so much hard work to this, and I’m excited to hear the album just like everybody else.”

Swift first teased the project in August on “New Heights,” the podcast hosted by Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce. She wrote, sang, and produced much of the record while running her record-breaking Eras Tour. The 12-track album includes “Showgirl,” “Cancelled!,” “The Fate of Ophelia,” and “Elizabeth Taylor.” It will stream on Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music, alongside an 89-minute film, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, now showing in theaters.

Kansas City Chiefs riding momentum into Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars
The Kansas City Chiefs have fought back from a slow 1-2 start and now ride a two-game winning streak. Patrick Mahomes threw for 270 yards and four touchdowns in a commanding 37-point win over the Baltimore Ravens last week. The Chiefs defense also limited Lamar Jackson to 147 passing yards before he exited with an injury, making the victory one of Kansas City’s most complete performances of the season.

Next, the Chiefs travel to face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football. Kansas City will look to push its record above .500 and keep pace in the AFC playoff race. Mahomes’ public support for Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl has added a pop culture spark to a weekend that already carries big football implications.
