The Jonathan Kuminga trade drama is reaching its peak with October 1 fast approaching. The players, his agent, and the Golden State Warriors front office have been trying to reach a solution that works for both parties, but so far, none have been able to find their place. In the middle of this, Warriors stars Stephen Curry , Draymond Green , and Jimmy Butler - who joined the team last February, all want JK to stay. What is the GSW front office thinking of doing now?

Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler rally for Jonathan Kuminga
The last few weeks have seen Jonathan Kuminga try to decide if he wants to sign a qualifying deal with the Golden State Warriors, or finally say enough is enough, and try his chances somewhere else. In the last four years, since he got drafted into the NBA by the Warriors, he has started less than 100 games in his career. And the playtime he has received too has left a lot to be desired. But amid all this, he has some people in the locker room rallying for him.

“Over the last few weeks, the Warriors veterans — Curry, Green, and Butler — have all communicated with the Dubs' brain trust to get a deal done, sources said. All three stars want Kuminga back on the roster, as his athleticism, durability, and production can't be replicated. If lost, Kuminga's void will be felt throughout the 82-game season.”

Stephen Curry is the biggest star in the Golden State locker room, and Draymond Green has been with the team for just as long. Jimmy Butler, though the newest acquisition, is a star player in his own right, and has a little bit of weight to throw around. So given all three of them want Kuminga to stay in the Bay Area speaks a lot of the situation. All three believe he will be instrumental for the team in the upcoming season as they compete for the championship. Whether JK stays though, is yet to be decided.

Jonathan Kuminga has a few things to mull over before making a decision
With only 10 days left for the Golden State Warriors to begin their training camp, a solution regarding Jonathan Kuminga's restrictive free agency drama is set to be reached. Both the Sacramento Kings and the Phoenix Suns reached out for a trade scenario, but what was offered in return did not peak the interest of GSW, who although were until recently were not very willing to offer Kuminga a better deal, still want to keep him in the team.

As per latest reports by ESPN, the team has offered JK a three-year, $75.2 million deal with a team option. The player and his agent are still trying for a player option, but the team doesn't want to budge on that front. At least not yet. But with so little time left to have the deal set and signed, both parties need to come to a decision soon.
