India Clinches 2-0 Series Win Over Bangladesh, Strengthens Top Position In WTC
The Indian men's cricket team, captained by Rohit Sharma , secured a 7-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the second Test, sweeping the two-match series 2-0. Despite rain interruptions, India chased down the target of 95 runs in just 17.2 overs on the fifth day at Kanpur’s Green Park Stadium.
This win, recorded on Tuesday (October 1), bolstered India’s lead in the 2023-25 World Test Championship ( WTC ) points table. India now holds a PCT% of 74.24, keeping them comfortably in the top spot. Defending champions Australia remain in second place with a PCT% of 62.50. Following these two are Sri Lanka (55.56 PCT%), England (42.19 PCT%), South Africa (38.89 PCT%), and New Zealand (37.50 PCT%).
After suffering back-to-back losses in the series, Bangladesh has slipped to the seventh position with a PCT% of 34.38.
