Kylian Mbappe has withdrawn his complaint of moral harassment against his former club Paris Saint-Germain , as confirmed by one of his lawyers on Monday, ahead of the Club World Cup semifinal between Real Madrid and PSG, after an investigation was opened last month by the Paris prosecutor’s office regarding Mbappe’s treatment by PSG at the start of the 2023-24 season, where he felt sidelined for refusing a new contract. Mbappe, now with Real Madrid, is also in a court battle with PSG to obtain 55 million euros in unpaid wages and bonuses.

Pierre-Olivier Sur, one of Kylian Mbappe's lawyers, stated: “We are withdrawing our civil action."

The complaint filed by Mbappe alleged he was sidelined by PSG and made to train with players the club intended to off-load. This treatment stemmed from his refusal to agree to a new contract with the club. The practice of sidelining players has also affected other footballers, leading the French players’ union to lodge a complaint last year.

Mbappe's grievances arose from events during the 2023-24 season. He was excluded from the team's pre-season tour of Asia. He also missed the first game of the season. Following discussions with the club, he was later reinstated to the team.

Mbappe's departure from PSG occurred last summer when he joined Real Madrid. He had spent seven seasons with the French club. During his time with PSG, Mbappe scored 256 goals in 308 games.

France captain Mbappe is currently pursuing legal action against PSG. He seeks to recover 55 million euros (USD 64.4 million) in unpaid wages and bonuses. He claims the club owes him this amount.

Notably, PSG won the Champions League for the first time last season. This victory occurred after Mbappe's departure from the club.
