WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce has announced that at WWE Evolution 2 on Saturday, July 13, at State Farm Arena, newly-crowned Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch will defend her title in a high-stakes triple threat against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria. The match, the second all-women premium live event - Evolution, features even more star power for the global audience watching on Peacock and WWE Network, as WWE's first all-women premium live event returns for the first time in just shy of seven years.

How the triple threat came togetherLynch, of course, wasn’t finished with Valkyria—the pair had been short-lived tag partners not long before the rivalry started—and ambushed her at Money in the Bank on June 7 with the capture of the Intercontinental title just recently the scenario had made it a combustible three-way rivalry as Lynch was freshly back from a post‑WrestleMania hiatus. Two nights later on Raw, Bayley returned and accused The Man of stealing her WrestleMania moment and asked for a title shot.

Bayley was originally set to face Valkyria to decide on a No. 1 contender, but when the two wrestlers ended their June 30 match in a double pinfall similar to what occurred on June 30, officials had no option but to throw both challengers into the mix for Evolution. In a video on WWE's social channels on Monday morning, Pearce confirmed the decision and declared the women's division "deserves a definitive ending."

Where the match fit on the Evolution 2 cardThe Lynch vs. Bayley vs. Valkyria match is just one of many added to the card. That includes WWE confirming Iyo Sky’s Women’s World Championship match against Rhea Ripley, Tiffany Stratton going up against Hall‑of‑Famer Trish Stratus for the WWE Women’s Championship, JacyJayne against Jordynne Grace for the NXT Women’s title, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez defending the Women’s Tag Titles in a fatal four‑way, a battle royal to determine a Clashin Paris challenger, and a featured singles match with Jade Cargill vs. Naomi.

However, WWE shows have plenty of time between now and bell time to devote heavy amounts of airtime to heated promos and potential contract signings, and ticket sales to this point could get a late-surge bump from the triple-threat news.
