According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is designing a tabletop robot that looks like the playful Luxo Jr., the hopping lamp from Pixar’s logo. This robot has a motorized arm with a 7-inch horizontal screen attached to it. The arm can move in different directions—up, down, and even rotate halfway—making it super interactive. It’s like having a friendly assistant that follows you around the room!
How Will It Help You?
This robot isn’t just for show—it’s packed with cool features to make life easier:- Smart Home Control: You can use it to manage things like lights, thermostats, or other smart devices at home.
- Video Calls: The robot’s screen and camera make it perfect for FaceTime calls. It can even track you as you move during a call, so you’re always in focus.
- AI-Powered Siri : The robot will have an upgraded version of Siri, Apple’s voice assistant. This new Siri can remember past conversations, understand multiple people talking, and give real-time suggestions.
- Fun and Interactive: Apple is working on giving the robot a lively personality, possibly with animated characters like a Mac Finder smiley face or Memoji-style “bubbles” on the screen.
What’s Special About It?
Unlike regular smart displays from companies like Google or Amazon, Apple’s robot is designed to be more engaging. Its moving arm and screen make it feel alive, almost like a companion. It can follow you during video calls or adjust its position to show you information better. There’s even a feature being tested where you can control the robot’s position remotely using your iPhone, like a joystick! You may also like
