Atlassian acquires DX to boost engineering intelligence capabilities
Atlassian has completed its acquisition of DX, a developer intelligence platform, the team collaboration software giant announced. The deal positions Atlassian to help enterprises better measure and optimize their AI investments while gaining deeper insights into developer productivity .
The acquisition addresses a critical need as organizations ramp up AI adoption. Engineering leaders increasingly face pressure to justify these investments with concrete data. DX's platform provides both qualitative and quantitative metrics that track developer productivity and satisfaction throughout the software development lifecycle.

DX will be integrated into Atlassian's System of Work and incorporated into the recently unveiled Atlassian Software Collection . This collection includes development tools such as Bitbucket, Bitbucket Pipelines, Compass, and Rovo Dev. The integration aims to give engineering leaders a comprehensive view of their operations while equipping developers with AI-native tools.
"Together, Atlassian and DX will empower enterprises to better understand their AI investments and provide unparalleled visibility into their teams' developer experience," the company stated.
The acquisition brings together two companies with significant market presence. Atlassian, traded on NASDAQ under the ticker TEAM, powers more than 80% of Fortune 500 companies and serves over 300,000 customers globally. High-profile clients include NASA, Rivian, Deutsche Bank, United Airlines, and Bosch.
DX brings its own impressive customer roster, serving hundreds of major technology companies including Dropbox, Block, Pinterest, and BNY. The platform's focus on measuring developer experience and ROI per developer complements Atlassian's existing suite of collaboration and productivity tools.
The combined offering promises engineering leaders data-driven insights to improve team performance while helping organizations maximize returns on their technology investments. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
