Step 1: Visit the Official IRCTC Website

On the login screen, click the link that says ‘Forgot account details?’. This will take you to a new page where you’ll need to enter either your registered IRCTC username or the email ID used during account creation.Step 3: Complete the Captcha Verification
After entering your username or email ID, you will be asked to enter a captcha. Make sure to enter it exactly as shown, because captcha entries are case-sensitive. Then, click the ‘Next’ button to proceed.Step 4: Receive and Enter OTP
You will now receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number or email ID. Enter the OTP along with your new desired password. Another captcha will be displayed—fill that in as well.Step 5: Update Your Password
After entering all the required information, click the ‘Update Password’ button, which will appear in an orange box. Once your password is successfully updated, your account will be ready to use again.Step 6: Login with Your New Password
Return to the IRCTC homepage and login using your username and the new password you just created.
