Instagram is finally bringing a much-awaited update that will allow users to rearrange their profile grid, offering more control over how their page looks. This new feature, officially announced by the platform on Thursday, fulfils a long-standing user request and aims to enhance profile curation and personal branding.

Grid Rearrangement Is Now Possible

Previously, posts on Instagram appeared in chronological order, and the only option to highlight older posts was to pin them to the top of the profile. With the introduction of grid reordering, users will now be able to customise the order of posts on their profiles, giving them greater creative control over how their content is presented to others.

'Quieter Posts' Feature in Testing

Instagram is also testing a new concept called 'quieter posts'. This feature will allow users to share content without having it appear in their followers’ main feed. The aim is to reduce performance pressure and make sharing feel more casual and personal.

This move reflects Instagram’s effort to create a more relaxed environment for expression and to cater to those who wish to post without worrying about likes or reach.

Spotify Integration on Notes

In a music-friendly update, Instagram has partnered with Spotify, enabling users to share the songs they are currently listening to directly on Notes. This real-time feature allows followers to get a glimpse of each other's current musical preferences, making interactions on the platform more dynamic and expressive.

New ‘Drafts’ Programme for Creators

Instagram is also launching a new initiative called ‘Drafts’, designed to support emerging creators. This programme is not a formal creator fund, but it aims to assist promising individuals through financial support, networking opportunities, and co-ideation efforts.

According to the company, Drafts will help creators bring their ideas to life by offering tailored resources and collaborative opportunities with Instagram’s in-house teams.

An Instagram spokesperson clarified that Drafts is about working closely with creators on specific projects rather than offering open grants. The platform seeks to invest in creative communities and provide infrastructure to help them grow sustainably.
