'BRICS Members Directly Involved In West Asia Crisis': India Shares BIG UPDATE Amid US-Iran War
The escalating conflict in West Asia is creating serious diplomatic challenges for the BRICS grouping. According to Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, several BRICS member states are directly involved in the current situation. Because of this, the group has struggled to reach a unified position on the Iran-related conflict. India, which is chairing BRICS this year, has been trying to facilitate discussions between member countries through diplomatic channels. A recent virtual meeting of BRICS Sherpas was held on March 12 to explore a possible joint response. However, officials say differing strategic interests among members have complicated consensus building. India’s leadership continues to engage with partners to find common ground as the geopolitical situation in the region evolves.
