'Called Me Yaar, Threw Papers': TDP MP Tenneti Slams Eight Suspended Lok Sabha MPs

TDP MP Krishna Prasad Tenneti, who was presiding over Lok Sabha proceedings in place of Speaker Om Birla, said some opposition MPs called him “yaar” (friend) during the session, which he deemed objectionable. The unruly behaviour led to the suspension of eight opposition MPs for the rest of the Budget session, including Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Hibi Eden, C Kiran Kumar Reddy, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Manickam Tagore, Prashant Padole, Dean Kuriakose, and S Ventakesan (CPI-M). Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said the MPs acted in “utter disregard” of the House and Chair’s authority. The House passed the suspension resolution by voice vote, and proceedings were adjourned amid uproar. Congress later protested outside Parliament over the suspensions.
