Canada To Address Transnational Repression, Nijjar Case Besides Trade In India Visit: Anita Anand
Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand has said she will raise concerns over transnational repression and the ongoing investigation into the killing of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar during her upcoming visit to India with Prime Minister Mark Carney. Anand stressed that the security of Canadians, both at home and abroad, remains a top priority for the Canadian government. She confirmed that the issue will be discussed as part of broader diplomatic engagements during Carney’s official trip later this month. In addition to security matters, Anand said Canada is focused on diversifying trade relationships and unlocking new economic opportunities
