CBI Takes Over Probe Into Murder Of Suvendu Adhikari’s Aide Chandranath Rath, Forms 7-Member SIT

The CBI has taken over the investigation into the murder of Chandranath Rath, personal assistant to West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari, and formed a seven-member SIT led by DIG Pankaj Kumar Singh. Rath was killed in a deadly ambush in Madhyamgram on May 6 when gunmen allegedly intercepted his SUV and opened fire. Three accused, including a Ballia-based sharpshooter, have been arrested in a joint interstate operation. The agency is now probing a possible larger conspiracy behind the killing.
