EAM Jaishankar, Marco Rubio Underscore De-Risking Supply Chains At US Critical Minerals Meet

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar addressed the Critical Minerals Ministerial in Washington DC, hosted by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. He underlined the risks of over-concentration in critical minerals and stressed the importance of de-risking supply chains through international collaboration. Jaishankar also highlighted India’s efforts, including the National Critical Minerals Mission, Rare Earth Corridors, responsible commerce, and support for the FORGE initiative. Rubio, in his opening remarks, emphasized the vital role of critical minerals in infrastructure, defense, industry, and technology, noting plans to sign frameworks with 55 partners from 54 countries and the EU to ensure resilient, affordable, and globally accessible supply chains through multilateral cooperation and private sector investment.
